Compliance Policy

Effective Date: January 1, 2025

  1. 1. Introduction

    District Cab is committed to full compliance with all applicable laws and regulations governing taxicab services in Washington, D.C. As a licensed Digital Taxicab Solution (DTS) provider, we adhere to Title 31 of the District of Columbia Municipal Regulations (DCMR) and all relevant directives issued by the Department of For-Hire Vehicles (DFHV).

  2. 2. Non-Discrimination Policy

    Pursuant to Title 31, Section 504 of the DCMR, Title 31, Section 903, and the District of Columbia Human Rights Act, District Cab strictly prohibits discrimination in providing taxicab services. Drivers may not refuse service or otherwise discriminate based on race, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, marital status, disability, personal appearance, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, political affiliation, or any other protected characteristic. No individual shall be excluded from participation in, denied benefits of, or subjected to discrimination under our services based on race, color, or national origin.

  3. 3. Accessibility Policy

    Under Title 31, Section 1808, District Cab is dedicated to providing accessible transportation to all passengers, including those with disabilities. Our fleet includes ADA-compliant wheelchair-accessible vehicles (WAVs). Passengers may request a WAV by calling 202-398-0500.

  4. 4. Language Access Policy

    To ensure compliance with Title 31, Section 824, District Cab provides language assistance services to passengers with Limited English Proficiency (LEP). Drivers are required to provide reasonable assistance, and our dispatch and customer service teams are trained to accommodate language access needs.

    Drivers affiliated with District Cab must comply with Title 31, Section 816, which outlines the operational and conduct requirements for taxicab operators, including:

    All fares must be calculated in accordance with Title 31, Section 801, using the DFHV-approved digital meter system. Drivers may not overcharge passengers, refuse credit card payments, or engage in unauthorized fare negotiations.   7. 7. Complaint Procedure

    Passengers who believe they have been subjected to discrimination, overcharging, service refusal, or any other regulatory violation may file a complaint by:
